Chamadumpa pulusu

Ingredients:



Arbi/Taro/Chamadumpa : 5-6
Tamarind : med lemon size
Onion : 1 med size(chopped)
Green chili : 2
Dry red chili : 1
Ginger garlic paste : 1 tsp
Red chili powder : 1/2  tbsp
Turmeric powder : 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder : 1 tsp
Cumin powder : 1/2 tsp
Curry leaves : 10
Cumin seeds : 1 tsp
Mustard seeds : 1/2 tsp
Fenugreek seeds:1/4 tsp
Hing : 1 pinch
Sugar : 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Oil for tadka

Procedure:

1.Soak tamarind in water for 15 min,extract the juice(approx 1 1/2-2 cups)
2.Boil arbi and peel off the skin,cut into long pieces.
3.Heat oil in a pan,when the oil is hot add mustard seeds after they splutter add cumin seeds,fenugreek seeds,hing,dry red chili,onions,ginger garlic paste and fry until raw smell of onions disappears.
4.Add turmeric,curry leaves,green chili and tamarind juice.Now add red chili powder,cumin powder,coriander powder,salt and sugar.
5.When the juice is boiling add arbi pieces,turn the heat to medium level and boil until juice becomes thick and arbi is tender approx 20 minutes.Finally garnish with coriander leaves.

Serve hot with plain rice.
